Purpose of this phase:

The individual undergoes:

  • Intensive investigative interviewing
  • Information verification
  • Pre-polygraph interview
  • Polygraph examination
  • Post-test interview and result discussion

Where necessary, further questioning and investigative interrogation techniques may be utilised to clarify inconsistencies and reach factual conclusions.

The behavioural analyst and investigator may jointly engage the examinee during this stage to evaluate:

  • Verbal and non-verbal indicators
  • Accountability and credibility
  • Overall cooperation
